1. Is a consultation required before I book?

    A consultation is required before booking for starter locs, loc maintenance especially for new accepting clients and maintenance over 8 weeks. If you have any major concerns or unsure of what to book, a consultation would be recommended prior to booking a service. The price of consultations will be deducted from final service amount.

  2. Do you accept walk-ins?

    Currently no walk-ins! Recommended to book online.

  3. How long before/after starters can I get color?
    It is recommended to get color prior to starting your journey because once your journey started it is not recommended to get color until about six months to a year later. I recommended to not color your hair the same day as your appointment. 

  4. How long will my service take?
    For a Wash + Retwist service should take no more than two hours in its entirety. For other services such as interlocking, braids, and/or natural hair services, etc color, timing will depend on texture, length, and quantity of locs.

  5. Why is my hair thinning?
    Thinning can because from a multitude of reasons. The most common reasons for thinning include but are not limited to: product buildup, excessive tension from styling or retwisting, health, scalp irritation or medication. To narrow down specifically why your hair is thinning it is best to book a consultation with your stylist and if stylist can not assist, a dermatologist or trichologist will be recommended.

  6. Do you have a Dermatologist or Trichologist to recommend?
    Yes, Dr. Mobolaji Opeola (San Antonio,TX), who also accept Tricare insurance. Black Trichologist, Shian Jones (Shaians Healthy Hair, San Antonio, TX)

  7. How long will my hair take to loc?
    Everyone loc’n experience is different and it will depend on you hair texture. The looser your curl pattern, the longer it takes. The tighter your curl pattern, the quicker it will be. Average time frame for a fully matured lock ranges from 4 months to a year.

  8. How often should I get a retwist and/or retighten?
    A retwist ( can include comb twist or palm roll) is recommended no sooner than 3 weeks and no later than 8 weeks. 

  9. Can I bring someone with me during my appointment time? What if they want to watch?
    Due to the limited seating area in the salon suite, we do not allow extra people in the salon unless getting loc service. Only exception is for children under the age of 18 may be accompanied by 1 adult for supervision of the child.
